About the doctor :
A pioneer and advocate of Hand & Microsurgery in Malaysia, Dr. Pathmanathan has over 30 years of experience in the field of medicine. His vast experiences include setting up the first Hand and Microsurgery Department in Malaysia at Hospital Kuala Lumpur and performing the first arm transplant surgery in the world as recorded by the Guinness Book of World Records in 2000. Having received his professional training in Hand and Microsurgery in Australia, United States, Germany and Japan, Dr Pathmanathan has also been responsible in heading the Hand & Microsurgery Department in Hospital Kuala Lumpur and Hospital Selayang respectively. In addition, Dr. Pathmanathan is also responsible for initiating and implementing a web-based Hand and Microsurgery Telemedicine project in 2003 resulting in real time tele-consultation and remote tele-surgery monitoring of patients anywhere from any PC. Having performed more than 1000 replants in his career, Dr. Pathmanathan is now a Consultant Hand & Microsurgeon in Tropicana Medical Centre.
