Dr. Joseph Yap Chong Kiat graduated with a medical degree from University of Malaya in 1990. He went on to obtain double fellowships from The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and The Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians of Glasgow in 1995.He is a member the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia and the Malaysian Orthopaedic Association. In 1999, he was Ambassador of the Malaysian Orthopaedic Association to the Hong Kong Orthopaedic Congress of Medicine, where he presented original papers on Humeral fractures and Radial nerve injuries. He also obtained an AO Fellowship at Sunnybrook Hospital at Toronto, Canada in 2004.

Dr. Yap has extensive experience in fracture fixation and trauma surgery, including minimally invasive forms of surgery. He is a member of the Malaysian Osteoporosis Society and has special interest in the treatment of osteoporosis. He has vast experience in the treatment of spine, knee and other joint problems, both by conservative methods (non surgical), and by means of surgery.

Dr. Yap is presently a Resident Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon at Tropicana Medical Centre.

Dr. Yeong Yew Kwan brings to Tropicana Medical Centre over 15 years of experience in medicine, sub-specializing in Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery. After obtained his Master of Orthopaedics in 2004, he then developed a keen interest in Adult Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr. Yeong did his clinical fellowship training in Trauma and Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery in Singapore General Hospital and Penn State Medical Centre. At present, he is the only few trained foot and ankle surgeons in the country.

His main works pertaining to foot and ankle are: 

• Correction of leg, foot and ankle deformities.
• Trauma or Fracture of foot and ankle.
• Sports injuries of the foot and ankle.
• Minimally invasive foot and ankle surgery. These include tendon endoscopic procedures, ankle and subtalar joint arthroscopy. 
• Diabetic neuropathic ulcer and Charcot arthropathy.
